For German passports and ID cards, passport photos must now be submitted digitally to the authorities. We take your biometric e-passport photo in line with official requirements – professionally captured, carefully checked, and ready for secure digital submission.

FAQs about the passport photo.
How long is the QR code valid?
The QR code is valid for a limited period – ideally, visit us shortly before your appointment at the authority. We are happy to give you the exact details in store.
Does the e-passport photo also work for the driving licence?
Just ask us – we will tell you which format your authority currently requires and produce the right photo.
What should I wear?
Ideally plain-coloured clothing that stands out against the light background. Glasses are allowed as long as your eyes are clearly visible and there is no glare.
Does this work for children and babies too?
Yes – we have more than 30 years of experience, including with our smallest customers. Relaxed biometric rules apply to babies.
The letter from the authorities says “digitales Lichtbild” – is that the same thing?
Yes. “Digitales Lichtbild”, “e-Passbild” and “digital passport photo” all mean the same thing. Your photo is no longer printed and handed in; we transmit it securely online. You receive a QR code to present at the Bürgerbüro – only the authority can read it and retrieve your photo.
